One of my users has found an issue when searching for an entry located on the screen you're searching from.

Say my preferences are organized with imbricated PreferenceScreens (see below) and my search bar is on the welcome screen where all 3 roots are present (Mammals, Fishes and Birds).

+ PreferenceScreen Mammals
| + PreferenceScreen Dogs
| | Preference Teckel
| | Preference Poodle
| + PreferenceScreen Cats
+ PreferenceScreen Fishes
+ PreferenceScreen Birds

Working example for the "Dogs" PreferenceScreen

  • When I type "Dogs", SearchPreference displays the expected entry in its results ✅
  • When I tap that entry, SearchPreference leads me to the location of "Dogs", highlights it and closes the list of search results ✅

Failing example for the "Fishes" PreferenceScreen

  • When I type "Fishes", SearchPreference displays the expected entry in its results ✅
  • When I tap that entry, nothing happens ❌

Expected result : The list of search results closes, and SearchPreference highlights the "Fishes" entry on the root PreferenceScreen
