Problem with LUA script in darktable

I have activated the LUA script in darktable but have the same error message every time I select "Setup Python Environment". I get "Error: failed to create venv". Is there something I need to do differently?

This is using darktable nightly build with Linux Mint 22.

I have been able to setup the Python Environment by using the manual installation instructions., however when I run the LUA nind_denoise_rl script I get the following error:

Error: nderr 1001 denoise/deblur processing failed
