Gimp 3.04 from Flatpak not working

I put the plugins in the folder mentioned in the Flatpak gimp folder specified on the very bottom help ticket and everything,... i type in white text.... press enter.... AND absoltely no menus pop up for layer styles...

I press escape and all it does is close the text tool options...

The plugins dont appear to be loaded in the gimp gui plug in browser either ....

You have everything correct. I don't know what its not working. Just to confirm look in Filters>Text Styling and Filters>Render>Fun but I'm sure you did. I doubt that's the case.

Also regarding text escape, The goal of escape is to get out of edit text mode to select the plugin. The plugin can't be searched for with / unless one presses escape, but that is off topic.

It works for me on Flatpak. I just confirmed even when Flatpak GIMP has extreme restrictions in Flatseal it can still access the plugins.

My guess is you have a different architecture. type uname -a these plugin binaries require x86_64 if you don't have x86_64 they will not work on your distro unless you manually compile.

Here is how to manually compile instantly, go in the folder /Gimp_Layer_Effects_Text_Styler_Plugin_GEGL_Effects-ContinualEdition/SourceCode and run these commands

This should instantly compile and put the six binaries in the flatpak folder

chmod +x build_everything_linux.sh && ./build_everything_linux.sh && cp $(find . -name '*.so') ~/.var/app/org.gimp.GIMP/data/gegl-0.4/plug-ins

Sorry I took so long, consider compiling manually using this command.

I just carefully confirmed that my plugins work on

GIMP 2.10 flatpak
GIMP 3.0.4 flatpak (yours)
GIMP 3.0.4 native
GIMP 3.0.6 native

on Cinnamon and XFCE4 - X11

I cannot test 3.0.6 flatpak due to a special config I have where GIMP 2.10 takes its slot. But I strongly assume it works on 3.0.6 flatpak based on everything I know. Remember binaries only work on x86_64.
