Description

-What is the supporting institution ensuring sustainability over time ? Universität Jena ?

nmrXiv is currently being developed as a part of NFDI4chem (an initiative to build open and FAIR infrastructure for research data management in chemistry), which will ensure the long-term sustainability of the infrastructure. Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, is the application institution leading the project under Prof. Christoph Steinbeck. Please find more details here - https://nfdi4chem.de/

- Where are the data stored physically ? In a single place ? Can one create one’s own local instance synchronized with nmrxiv for preservation ?

Data submitted to nmrXiv is stored at the FSU Data Center. A copy of this is also stored on Google cloud (geographically separated for disaster management). Our data storage layer is S3 compatible, so you can rsync the data stored on nmrXiv to your local storage if needed.

- Is there a size limit per file or per upload ?

We have a limit of 1TB per file but no limits on the total data uploaded to nmrXiv. We would like to know more about your requirements. How large can your files get to??

- Are there restrictions about the types of systems, such as : molecular vs. solid material, organic/inorganic/biological/macromolecular/polymer species ?

No, we don't restrict NMR submissions to any sub-discipline.
