Is it possible to add an auto-update mechanism on mac platform?

Hello,

This type of feature is a bit complicated to develop on Mac.

However, it is possible by installing and auto-updating ByteSync via Homebrew.

I actually experimented with macOS auto‑update, but it didn’t work reliably due to App Translocation (the app ends up running from an isolated location), which complicates updates and can break expected paths/permissions.
For now I prefer to keep macOS updates simple and reliable via Homebrew, which works well even if it is less fluent.

In the medium term, I'm considering distribution via the Mac App Store, where updates are managed by Apple.
Would distribution via the Mac App Store suit you?
