Publishing final version of FAIR OSS principles #19

To spread as wide as possible the principles we though to publish them in a journal. There are few examples we can follow. e.g.

My preference would be to keep the article as short as possible using the current content. I think the current form of the principles can easily be adapted to the structure of a publication. We already proposed to have the “Fears of open sourcing & some ways to handle them” section as an annex so for this publication they would fit well as supplementary materials.

To start this process we created a new google doc with the structure of a manuscript. I have created a second document to be attached as supplementary material including the fears.

I do not mind where we publish it, but I am bias to F1000. They follow the same principles we are promoting. 1.- Publication open from day one, 2.- promoted by registries like PubMed once the reviewers give their OK and 3.- article published with a license (CC-BY). I care more about these principles than the impact factor, so to me F1000 would be a great choice. Still we are open to suggestions.
