The current draft does not mention citation and credit. I think it should.
Perhaps something like:
Many software developers want to receive credit when their software is used, and in academia, where a large fraction of open source research software is developed, the standard method for credit is citation. Each open source project should describe how its developers would like it be cited (ideally following the principles in https://doi.org/10.7717/peerj-cs.86), and projects that use other project should clearly cite them.
