Axial load appears to be supported by the slip ring?

It appears the slip ring is supported the axial load, as the 2" shaft connects to the pulley on top, and slides over the slip ring on the bottom. Is that correct? I don't see a thrust bearing anywhere. (The upper race of the bearing in the pillow block doesn't touch the pulley mount).
