The bug described in #37 happens (again?) in the 5.2 release (released on 2025-03-04): Pressing the gallery button shows only camera apps to choose.
Since #37 was closed in January 2025, I assume that this is a regression.
I installed OCR version 5.2 from F-Droid, on Android 10.
