configure branch protection rules and status checks for v2 branch

Went to require pull request approval as a branch protection rule, but not sure we can do that without access to the settings tab?

What does a status check for a branch look like in development?

I think only I can do it as the repo owner. I think PR approval as a branch protection rule is good. If you have any other settings you like (or dislike) let me know and I'll set them!
