Report spam or inappropriate content

Not sure if this is possible via bbPress. Doesn't look like it out of the box. Apple has rejected one of my iOS bbPress app version updates because the app allows users to generate content but the app doesn't have a method of reporting spam or inappropriate content etc.

Looks like I'm going to have to add a button on each post and reply to flag content.

bbPress doesn't have this in house. In the past I made a use of this plugin: https://github.com/jjeaton/bbpress-report-content

Might help with your app while bbPress doesn't support this functionality. :)

OK, will check this one out. I suppose it's just a flag on a post and then a moderator/keymaster can check them out in the backend?

Exactly! It also sends a notification by email to the admin.

I'm about to build this for my app and back end. May not have anything for a week or two because I'll be traveling shortly. But I'll keep you posted. If I create a report plugin it will have a back end to store the reports and status and would have to have an API.

FYI I built a WP plugin with its own API for this feature and have it coded/working in my app. The WP admin backend shows the questionable content, submitter, content author etc.

It's working but still work to do on the admin side so not ready for prime time yet.
