CRAN 0.5.0 submission #478
Description
In anticipation of being tied down by other projects over the next month or two, I'd like to submit a tinyplot 0.5.0 release to CRAN by the end of the week. I think we've accumulated enough meaningful updates, particularly with an eye towards reverse dependencies and making tinyplot a better foundation for other packages (e.g., #406 and #475).
Issuing a new release now would also give us a clean break to potentially incorporate some of the "container" refactoring that Vincent has proposed in #473... in addition to some of the multi-legend + parameter passing stuff (e.g., #472, #455) that I'd like to priortise for the subsequent release.
Assuming you are both on board and looking at the list of open issues, here are some low-hanging items that I think we could tackle by EOW:
- Labeller for legend #447
- Support ephemeral themes via
plt(..., theme = ...)? #442 - Some custom theme elements aren't being reset #477
Other potential candidates:
- [ ] #332 (easy enough on its own, but I would like to ensure we have NSE support at the same time per @zeileis comment here.)
- [ ] #423 (tougher than it looks based on when I investigated quickly a few months ago, but would be nice to have a solution. OTOH, perhaps we should wait on this discussion being resolved?)
Again, I expect to be pretty time constrained for the next little while. So please have a crack at any of these issues/PRs if you can!
