Adding support for "AirReps"?

The good quality 1:1 AirPods clones, usually referred to as AirReps (Air Replicas) should also work with the standard L2CAP protocol, but can also be controlled via Serial Port Profile and even have some extra features like multiple ANC modes, equalizer, firmware information, etc.

There's currently no default and open source app for those, they all use proprietary manufacturer (Airoha, Bluetrum, etc) software which is a pain in the ass to use and does not connect automatically.

Would you be interested in having specific support for those via SSP (I can contribute with PRs), or you want to keep this exclusively and purely for original AirPods only?

Edit: One advantage of adding SPP support is that the app would work without root, and many people will be interested in using it!

Sounds like a great idea to support AirReps too!
I have two questions:

• do you have any documentation for the protocol they use over SPP?
• and, do you know if AirReps suffer from the same problem as original AirPods with l2c connections on android?

I don't have much time to make big changes in the app; I'd do it myself if it were as simple as using AACP commands, but over SPP. I'd really appreciate PRs if not. (I'm busy with preparing for entrance exams for the next few months.)

I know the protocol that the ones with Airoha SoCs use, but there's not really any documentation about it. I wrote an app in the past that communicated with them and I can base my code on that (since I never really finished because I couldn't bother doing the UI layer xD).

I've never tried communicating with AirReps over L2CAP, I tried it today with mine with this app and for some reason they wouldn't connect even with the Xposed module enabled and a rooted device. I know that iPhones do detect them as genuine AirPods, so the protocol should not be that different.

I can contribute the support for Airoha ones, and then IIRC I also have ones with another chipset which I could also try to implement. I'm going to do some tests with L2CAP and report back my findings.

What's your Android version and the ROM?
