Nominate OpenJS Foundation CPC Regular Members #26

@achrinza

Description

@achrinza

As part of the OpenJS Foundation (OpenJSF) on-boarding, we can nominate and endorse some of our members to join as an OpenJSF CPC Regular Member.

These have indicated interest in joining:

From the CPC Charter:

Anyone who has been active in the work of the OpenJS Foundation, one of its member projects or other related activity as described in the CPC Governance may request to become a regular member by opening a PR to add themselves to the list of regular members.

Although we don't have a formal Project Representative, I believe the TSC can act in that role.

From the Governance:

Project representatives from the project the user is claiming affiliation with have the ability to approve/reject the nomination.

The above that is struck out is incorect. At-Large Projects collectively get to nominate 2 Project Representatives of which none of the current representatives are affiliated with LoopBack.

From README:

At Large Project Representatives

According to the CPC Charter, each of the At Large and Incubating Projects may nominate a candidate to fill one of two voting seats on the CPC which represent this group of projects as a whole. From those nominees, two voting members are chosen via an election process outlined in the CPC Governance.

  • Eemeli Aro (@eemeli, Mozilla)
  • Tobie Langel (@tobie, UnlockOpen)

The responsibilities of being a Regular Member:

  • Work on non-public matters and materials
    From CPC Charter:

    On occasion, there are matters and materials that must be kept private and shared only with Voting and Regular members.

  • Nomination of two Voting members
    From CPC Charter:

    up to two Voting members may be nominated by the Regular members. Once nominated these members must be ratified by the CPC Voting members before becoming a Voting member.

  • Member the GitHub cpc-regular-members team
  • Subscriber of the cpc-private mailing list
    From the CPC Charter:

    Add the member to the cpc-private email list

Examples of previous self-nominations:

To self-nominate:

  1. Open a PR with the "Regular Member Pull Request" template
  2. Describe the work you've done in the foundation or its member projects
  3. Have other LoopBack TSC member(s) approve the PR, acting in the role of a Project Representative for LoopBack
    The other LoopBack TSC members can approve or reject the nomination.
    This is incorrect. See edit above on At-Large Project Representatives.
  4. Get two or more approvals from OpenJSF CPC Voting Members
  5. Wait for 1 week duration to lapse
  6. Formal welcoming by the CPC in the next CPC Meeting
