the usage of the group object

I am currently testing the license functionality.

There is an owner in the relationship of the group object. I want to use this relationship to set a specific user object as the owner, but it is marked as protected in the Keygen API reference. How can I use it?

I am currently testing with Postman using an admin token, but it is not working. Are there any additional conditions required to use this?

Group owners are currently non-functional (i.e. a noop), but the plan is outlined in keygen-sh/keygen-api#604. All that really needs to be done is the authz layer, to allow owners to manage their group resources. Just haven't gotten to it yet, as it's been relatively low priority. Planning on revisiting once our new UI, Portal, is hopefully released later on this year.

Additionally, I am designing a system to assign licenses for multiple products to specific equipment (IPC).

In this process, managing the license list for each piece of equipment is necessary. To achieve this, I plan to use groups (by linking licenses to the group relationship).

If the number of devices increases, I believe using group objects would be more convenient for checking the license list for each device. (I intend to assign groups to users by utilizing the group object's owner.)

Does this approach align with Keygen's design philosophy?
(I considered using groups because creating machine objects for each license would consume excessive resources.)

Is there a specific method in Keygen designed for this purpose?

This seems like a good use case for groups.
