Homekit - no response

Hi there,

First of all, massive thanks for the work you've done on the subject, I'm surprised there is so little interest in this project.
I've been successfully running your home assistant edition of this project, but wanted to eliminate all bridges and use this version.

I do have an issue tho, that the alarm in HomeKit becomes unresponsive after few minutes.
All I get is "No response" status in HomeKit and this warning, when I read the serial monitor from the esp8266:

"!!! HomeKit: Characteristic value format is different from characteristic format"

I don't know if this warning is causing the alarm instance in HomeKit to become unresponsive.
Anyway, would be great if this could be resolved, but I also understand, if you can't be bothered, given the limited interest in this project.
