This is when you trigger tests from within vscode itself, rather than run in a terminal. The default behaviour strips out all colour.

I've approved as the change is fine but shouldn't this be local dev config rather than checked in? 🤷

we could remove this file, but there are also some linting rules in here that we inherited from the repo template.

it looks like we previously had problems with this file overriding the local config, and that's why we specified the test settings in here at all: 986152a

I probably agree with @Harriethw 's alternative .gitignore approach but we should probably just merge for now and move on. Not important.
