Summary of Changes

Hello @didier-durand, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request significantly enhances the test coverage for the core ID generation utilities, including IDGeneratorContext, IDGenerator, and UUIDGenerator. By adding a dedicated test suite, it ensures the robustness, correctness, and expected behavior of these critical components, improving overall code reliability and maintainability for the server's ID management system.

Highlights

  • New Test File Added: A new test file, tests/server/test_id_generator.py, has been added to introduce comprehensive unit tests for the ID generation components.
  • IDGeneratorContext Testing: Tests have been implemented for IDGeneratorContext to verify its creation with various field configurations (all, default, partial), field mutability, and type validation.
  • IDGenerator Abstract Class Validation: The IDGenerator abstract base class is now tested to ensure it cannot be instantiated directly and that its subclasses are enforced to implement the generate method.
  • UUIDGenerator Functionality and Uniqueness: Extensive tests for UUIDGenerator confirm that it generates valid, unique, and version 4 UUIDs, returns string types, correctly calls uuid.uuid4() internally, and operates independently of the IDGeneratorContext parameter.

Code Review

This pull request adds a comprehensive set of tests for IDGeneratorContext, IDGenerator, and UUIDGenerator. The tests cover creation, validation, abstract class constraints, and the specific behavior of the UUIDGenerator. My review includes suggestions to improve test robustness, reduce code duplication using pytest fixtures, remove redundant tests, and clean up unnecessary comments to enhance maintainability.
