Following some issues with download from the Government of Prince Edward Island website, I have prepared local copies of the following GIS maps for educational use by our readers:

  • coastline
  • lot_town
  • hydronetwork
  • nat_parks

I have updated the links and download instructions in each of the relevant lessons.

Note: The .zip file for this source is over 50MB (too large for us to host on GitHub):

  • forest_35

As there are 4 other sample maps available for readers to explore, I am suggesting that we leave the web download links in place for this source.

Hello Alex @hawc2,
Olá Eric @ericbrasiln,

Just to keep you updated on a change to host local copies of some GIS maps used in these lessons which have been problematic for readers to download recently. I actually worked on this a while ago, but I was unsure what to do about one of the files which is massive (50MB). Thinking more clearly now, I think we host the small ones and keep the larger one as a web download - if there are download issues then readers still have the other maps to work with.
